SOFTEN BUTTER QUICKLY FOR RECIPES

Handy Helps #1

It's time for baking, and many recipes call for softened butter. By the time you wait for the butter to "soften" you're on to something else. So next time, cut off the amount you need and then use a cheese slicer to "slice" it. It softens in a fraction of the time, making your recipes come out better.

USE STEEL WOOL PADS AGAIN

Handy Helps #2

When cleaning a cooking pan with a steel wool pad, before you start scrubbing get a plastic sealable bag first. After you’re done scrubbing, simply drop the pad in the bag and seal. Since it won’t be exposed to air it won’t rust and you can use it again.

OLDER EGGS ARE EASIER TO PEEL FOR HARD BOILED EGGS

Handy Helps #3

When possible, use older eggs for hardboiled or deviled eggs. You'll save yourself some heartache.

Eggs can last several months in your refrigerator.
